Untie Knots Arc is the fifty second story arc of the Karsearin: Adventures of a Red Dragon (Web Novel).
Plot[]
When something landed on Rake's face while he was soundly asleep in a woodland, he asked huh. A large-mouthed snake gazed at Rake as though it were searching for food. Startled, Rake slashed the serpent with his sword. Rake yelled he nearly died in his sleep just now. Seria said they can have grilled snake for their late-night snack. A bonfire was used to roast the grilled snake. Someone asked Rake that he had a plan when someone inquired how long they really had to risk their lives camping out. Rake, who was eating grilled snake, stated that they would first travel to Karstein's lair, provided they did not enter it, people who are weaker than monsters won't disturb him. While sucking her thumb, Seria said what's the plan once they get there. Rake muttered the plan itself isn't too ambitious, sooner or later, the Dragon Slayers will also reach Karstein's lair, where they would wait for them, follow them covertly, and wait for a chance to take the seals. Seria's gaze expanded. Seria said that's all. Rake said his statement may seem pointless, but it's their greatest chance. Despite the fact that it sounds like a suicide mission, he is simply a mere mercenary attempting to oppose the powerful Dragon Slayers; given the ridiculousness of his goal, his only chance is a lucky break. In contrast to the departure of Karsenian and Karstein, both of them seemed relieved when they returned. Rosarahim said oh, Karsenian is back, how it did go. Karsenian replied as though she was happy that they had completed their task; that ought to be sufficient. Kiadrys eventually emerged through the portal. Kiadrys's face is a very exhausted expression and he muttered they're back. Rosarahim assumed they had gone awry. Kiadrys took a seat as though he were flinging himself into a chair. Karstein said they've set an example, so they'll carry on where they left off. Humans had collapsed, so there was no response, and Karstein remarked huh... they're all asleep. Rosarahim stated that she believed the humans had fainted, and Elder Karstein still had the Dragon Command residue on him. Karstein wondered why Rosarahim was making Dragon Command seem so dirty. When people awoke later, Charlene claimed she could not tell Karstein anything more and that he might consult the records for further details, she did add, though, that information about reverting to human form is likely only documented in Shahar, the imperial capital. Karstein reasoned that in order to prevent the incident from happening again, they would need to travel to the imperial capital and swiftly transform that thing back into a human. Karstein replied all right, they'll leave for the imperial capital now, human, she ought to open a portal. Charlene remarked his greatness the ancient dragon... they humans cannot travel such long distances via a portal. Karstein is surprised and told Charlene that she didn't even know the coordinates. Rosarahim getting to her hand and replied they'll need a map. Rosarahim grabbing Elyne's collar and murmured a map. Charlene told Rosarahim that she'll give her one right now. Someone took the empire's map and used her finger to indicate that one side was close to the Red Mountains. Another claimed to know the location's coordinates. Calmly, Kiadrys suggested that they simply ride whatever was available. As she studied the map, Karsenian questioned, huh. Karsenian's eyes glowed brightly. Karsenian grinned as she looked up and exclaimed let's stop by the city of hot springs near the Red Mountains. Karstein said oh, hot springs, good idea. Humans assumed that what the dragons said was correct. Arin claimed but he wanted to visit the capital first. Pete sighed deeply and remarked that he had assumed that their mode of transportation was riding wild horses, but who knew it was actually griffins. On the backs of griffins, they glided through the air. Pete believed that since griffins hunt people, he would never be able to ride one in his lifetime. The griffins were moving so quickly that people were unable to even open their eyes. Pete thought things appear to be in disarray over there, so he decided to leave them alone. Karstein stated sometimes it's wonderful to go slowly. Karsenian stated that she hasn't visited the hot springs in a long time, it is among the several pleasures Karstein might enjoy as a person. Rosarahim remarked that's Aur, the city of hot springs. A huge, imposing structure emerged. Seton mentioned a city of hot springs, but he was unaware that the empire had such a location. Pete said this is because the dragons own all of the hot springs in the Six Nations Alliance of Heid. Arin read the placard's description that it said Aur is particularly well-liked by the noblewomen since it offers a variety of skin-benefitting amenities, including mineral springs, steam baths, herbal baths, and hot springs. A few of the women in the group had eyes that sparkled. Charlene exclaimed skin care, wow. Rosarahim said what they're waiting for, let's go. Yuna was curious and asked Rosarahim if the dragon was also interested in skin care. Rosarahim replied that it was a nice luxury. The hot spring employee asked excuse him for stepping in... ...but this place is for nobles only, and you have to have money to get the service. Karstain asked if anyone had money. Karsenian replied why Karstein doesn't use Dragon Command to earn money. Someone suggested that while Karstein was doing it, why not do it at the spa. The other said that would be easy, just take a breath... Karstein said, yeah, right. The hot spring employee frowned, knowing that these shabby huffers didn't have any money... Rosarahim extended her hand saying she could connect to her lair, and with her touch a golden curve was drawn in the air. About 16.4 feet (5 meters) above Rosarahim's head, a golden magic circle about the size of a person was completed. The magic circle shone brightly, and piles of gems and gold of all kinds poured in through the portal. The hot spring employee and Pete's mouths dropped open, and the look in Yuna's eyes, who was particularly knowledgeable about gems, was no joke. Someone asked if this was enough, or if more was needed. Another replied that it was enough by human standards, but nothing compared to what Elder Karstein has. The other exclaimed that he would treat them like kings. Yuna wrapped herself in a towel and wow... ...it's just a bathhouse, why it does have to be so luxurious. Charlene opened her mouth, somewhat triumphantly, to see what Yuna was waiting for. Rosarahim said it was a pretty nice setting. The pony-tailed Karsenian said it wasn't bad. Yuna had a feeling of self-destruction. Yuna turned around. Aria's body was perfection itself. Yuna was shocked and wondered why she was so... ...suddenly depressed, she wondered. [1]
Karstein, taking another bath, remarked, aaah, that hit the spot, that's different from lava. With his hair braided into a bun and gathered to one side, Arin swam in a deft stance. Pete yelled at Arin that he shouldn't be swimming here. Arin abruptly shifted positions and attempted a backstroke. Pete yelled Arin shouldn't backstroke either. Karstein said hmm. Someone inquired as to who that was and why there was another person present. A burly man with a rough cloth stood on one side of the bathroom. Another person replied, oh, they're called professional scrubbers, he had never heard of them before, but it seemed like this bathhouse was the only place where they worked. Curious, Karstein remarked, oh, only in this bathhouse, how interesting. Karstein got up and said, Kiadrys, let's try it. Kiadrys responsed very good. Karstein stepped into the wood-framed home. Eventually, there was a loud sound. Karstein let out aaagh. Pete believed he heard the screams of the Red Dragons, the strongest animals on the planet... scrubbing must be agony. Karstein told him to stop being so dramatic after washing his hair, saying that it wasn't that terrible and that it was refreshing after he got over it. Kiadrys despite his red and swollen skin, scowled and he said it doesn't change the fact that it's painful. Someone said haha. Karstein and bowed his foamy head in Seton's direction and remarked he should pour some water on him, human. Seton had an idea. Seton watched carefully, then snatched up a ladle and doused Karstein in water. Karstein said to Seton in a startling, solemn, and authoritative tone that people had been taking care of Arin all along after he had completed cleaning his body. It was a surprise, but Seton had grown quite observant over the years. Seton said yes. Seton thought Karstein's childlike appearance made it difficult for him. Karstein rose and addressed Seton solemnly, explaining that their species is known to return favors and that they may have a wish, they should let him know what they want, and he will grant it. Pete dropped to his knees. Pete told Karstein that he was great and that he only needed to learn about the forgotten ancient wisdom, however, if he insisted on being generous, he would want to ask for some treasure because his mission is to help the hungry and impoverished start again. Karstein laughed and told Pete that it was obvious he had prepared his remarks beforehand. Karstein told Pete that he had already educated him and that now he also wanted money. Pete's skin pricked. Pete told to Karstein that f-forgive him. With a gentle smile, Karstein told Pete to calm down; it's adorable how people may think. Now Karstein looked at Seton and asked him if he had a wish. Seton answered his wish cannot be granted by someone else... because he want to reach the heights of a Sword Master, not even an almighty dragon can make this a reality, right. Indeed, Karstein also had an awkward look on his face. Karstein thought for a moment and then said, hmm, sure, it's a bit difficult, and giving magic is easy compared to that. At that moment, Arin, who had not been very interested in the conversation before, suddenly joined the conversation and asked Karstein if he knew how to use the Sword Aura. Karstein's question gave him a puzzled look. Karstein answered he's not sure about humans, but it's a piece of cake for them dragons, Arin can feel the flow of mana, yes, imagine gathering it into his hands and then drawing a long stick from it. True to his word, Arin thought he had mana in his hand, and then he lifted it into the air, and a faint light began to emanate from his hand. Arin looked at the brilliant sword of light that had formed and exclaimed, whoa, he did it, it was so simple. Seton, who was watching from the side, frowned. Seton thought that most people would have to train incessantly to reach that level... Arin wielded the sword of light happily. When Seton shuddered, Kalstein said, human doesn't be discouraged, it's not for lack of talent, humans are jealous of dragons who use mana, no different than when they look at a bird and wonder why they can't fly. Arin's eyes suddenly lit up as if he had realized something and exclaimed, oh, that means he has become a Sword Master. Karstein said, no, that's not what he meant. Arin was disappointed and said, oh. Karstein slowly explained to Arin why he now had a special weapon, but that's all there is to it, usually, humans begin by mastering the sword, they feel the blade, then the current, and finally they come to wield the mana that makes up the world. Karstein told Seton that mana cannot be given like a gift, besides, even if he helped him, he might be diverting him from the path he is seeking. Karstein smiled faintly and raised his hand toward the disappointed Seton. Karstein put his strength into it. Karstein said enhence. Karstein's fingertips glowed, creating a strange curve of light in the air, and a trail of light flowed through Seton's entire body. Karstein said that he had maximized his physical capabilities, he may not notice a big difference, but it's better than nothing. Karstein's expression suddenly turned playful and said, Now. Karstein exclaimed it's their turn to get scrubbed. Pete's expression was frightened. Seton thought that Karstein liked him a lot. A light ran through the dim forest deep in the sparsely populated mountains. Darios asked they're in the Al Kreed Mountains. Gaster answered yes. Vera looked around. Gaster said that it used to be a village of slash-and-burn farmers, but that the entire village had been set on fire to cut off trade with the Batrans, and that he had teleported there from memory. Vera asked, the village, Gaster said. Someone said there was no trace of a village here. Darios looked pensive and wondered, if Gaster could teleport to a village that no longer existed, what was preventing him from locating the coordinates of Serkarsel. In a firm tone, Gaster said, let's keep going; if they go over this hill, they should be able to see Karsel. They walked slowly. Someone thought that Karsel would not be unscathed. Darios thought that His Majesty and His Highness would be fine, even if they were as devastated as Libeid. After a moment, Gaster's expression hardened. Darios asked Gaster what was wrong and why he did suddenly stop. Darius' eyes widened. Pluto asked they had taken the wrong road. Gaster screamed in fear and trembling that the dragon's power is unimaginable. [2] Suddenly, they heard rustling in the grass and someone appeared. [3]
