The Creature Part 14 is the fourteenth part of the [Super Dragon 2nd]『 The Creature 』.

Plot[]

The wind blows. Carrying the sweet scent of blood across the meadow. Human blood and flesh cover the air. Red rain falls, wetting the meadow, and the sparks of life begin to die out in the gray storm. Screams and cries echo through the air in a strange harmony.

......

Kana stared blankly at the scene unfolding before her eyes.

The templars, whose ranks had already been thrown into disarray, were no longer able to provide any strength, and those gray beasts were freely satisfying their desires without any interference. Kana knelt down and bowed her head weakly. The events before her eyes did not feel real.

Kana thought what should I do....

Kana was dizzy...

Kana was just an apprentice exorcist. Although Kana had gained great strength, she was still an apprentice exorcist at heart.

Kana had never learned the qualities of a leader, nor had she ever been taught, nor what to do in this situation, nor how to overcome fear. In the first place, it was wrong to push a young girl into the battlefield just because she knew how to use such an item. However, Kana wasn't so foolish as to not know the two letters of responsibility.

Kana thought I have to get up...

Kana thought slowly got up. Kana's legs were shaking. Kana's clenched fists were shaking slightly. A crackling sound leaked out between Kana's clenched lips.

However, Kana couldn't kneel like this. Kana wasn't a Saint who would care for the sick with a kind smile. What people wanted from Kana was only one thing, a Saint who would protect them from danger.

Kana thought I have to get up...

Kana's bent knees straightened. Kana's elastic legs kicked the ground. Kana burst out in excitement.

Kana shouted taat!

In an instant, Kana's entire body shot forward. Like a shot arrow, Kana's entire body aimed at one of the massacre-carrying Ryukoids and ran across the grassland almost as if it was flying. And then..... Kana was immediately bitten.....;;;;;

The Ryukoid that was Kana's target was staring blankly at the young black-haired human girl currently in its mouth.

.......

Something flew at Ryukoid so quickly that it turned its head in surprise, but it suddenly jumped into its mouth, so it bit it hard. But when something bit it, it was the girl from before...... Ryukoid couldn't help but feel dumbfounded as it looked at this absurd prey stuck in its snout (after all, it was an animal...).

To be honest, it was natural. Even if the girl ran around with her full consciousness, she wouldn't be able to do anything, so she made a super-simple straight-line attack as if she was saying, "Catch me~" while half-conscious, so Ryukoid had no choice but to grab her. Of course, Ryukoid can't blame Kana for being terrified...

Anyway, once something enters the mouth, it's natural to bite it refreshingly (...why?), so Ryukoid raised its head and lightly shook the pitiful prey in its mouth before immediately crossing its upper and lower jaws. That's what Ryukoid meant to bite.

Ryukoid has a huge jaw that can split an adult male in two with one bite. It's definitely not something that Kana, who is just a girl, can handle.

The girl groaned ugh... ugh...

The sharp white pillars pierced Kana's delicate skin and tore open her internal organs. Without even giving Kana a chance to scream, red blood began to flow out like a waterfall from between Kana's red lips with a squelching sound.

However, the peace of death didn't come easily to Kana. The sharp teeth of the Ryukoid didn't even manage to cut Kana in half, even though they had made a horribly large hole in her waist and entire body.

Kana groaned ugh... ugh...

Despite the fact that Kana should have died already, Ryukoid shook his head once more at the reaction of this prey that was still tenaciously alive. This prey wasn't chewed as well as it looked. The prey was as if something was blocking it.

To it who wanted to kill more, this was quite annoying, so Ryukoid lightly shook the prey and moved it to a position where it could bite easily. Now, if he just tightened his jaws, this delicate-looking yet strangely tough prey would be cut in half.

Ryukoid growled krrr...

However, Ryukoid wasn't given that opportunity. The moment Ryukoid was about to tighten its jaws, something caught its keen senses. The existence of an unidentified life form that was very strong and had a definite presence, and had no hostility but was full of fighting intent.

Something roared woooooo----

A majestic roar echoed from across the plains, accompanied by a rough wind. The gray beast that had been biting Kana opened its mouth. With a thud, Kana's tattered body rolled to the ground. However, Kana was already out of the beasts' sight. The other beasts also turned their eyes away from their prey. A new threat was approaching. Their instincts were warning them of it.

Something roared woooooo--------

Something's roar began to grow louder. Tension filled the red eyes of the beasts. Now it was certain. Something was approaching. Something powerful and determined to fight the beasts.

A random red object lying in a corner of the meadow, suddenly moved faintly. With a faint groan.

The object groaned ugh.....

At the same time, with a squelch, a mouthful of red blood poured out of Kana's mouth and ran down her cheek.

Kana thought ...what's this.

Kana muttered to herself, shivering at the sticky texture. Kana's mind was hazy. Kana couldn't properly judge the situation.

Kana twisted her motionless head with difficulty. A trembling red-tinged white object came into view. The beautiful girl's hand, soaked in blood and looking even whiter under the moonlight, was her own hand convulsing.

Somehow.... Kana understood the situation.....

Kana thought is this how I'm going to die....

Kana smiled weakly, bitterly. It was something Kana had prepared for anyway. Since entrusting their bodies to the temple, death has always been with the priests.

Even if you step out of the human city, in the Mid-Area of their continent, where monsters that humans cannot handle were rampant, death was only a matter of whether you died first or last.

The only regret was that due to Kana's own foolishness, she failed to properly fulfill her responsibility - protecting the merchants - from the creatures. If Kana had just had a little more courage, she could have taken some of them as her companions on her journey to the afterlife...

Kana thought I am a failure all the way...

Kana slowly closed her eyes. Kana's thoughts could no longer continue. Kana could only feel death slowly approaching. The soft, warm, moist, even ticklish feeling of death...?

Kana thought...?

Kana suddenly frowned in confusion. The situation was a bit strange. Although Kana don't know because she hasn't died, when she think back on the fear that the word death brings, wasn't this what death was like? Kana slowly opened her eyes. And...

Kana shouted yipee!

At that moment, Kana screamed so loudly that it was hard to believe she was injured, forgetting her wounds.
