The Creature Chapter 10 is the tenth chapter of the The Creature (Web Novel).

Plot[]

Once again, the front legs of the Ryukoid were aimed at Kana. Kana barely avoided it and was thinking about how to improve the situation. Whew! A creepy sound suddenly reached Kana's ears. Kana thought huh. It's the sound of something huge flying towards Kana! Kana quickly turned her body and crossed her arms. Thud! The intense impact pierced Kana's arms and shook her internal organs. Kana thought it hit her straight... One of the Ryukoids swung its front legs and struck Kana down, not missing a moment of opening. Fortunately, Kana blocked the attack, but the price was quite high. Kana's slender body flew straight into the air and landed in a corner of the meadow with a loud noise. Once again, dry grass leaves fluttered. Kana moaned ouch... Kana groaned and got up. However, her face showed no more courage. If Kana had allowed the attack just now, her head would have been blown off cleanly by now. Kana thought ...oh, she almost died. Kana's spine tingled. Kana shivered and stepped back. It was clear that Kana's power had greatly increased since she had obtained Blairs Taina. It was obvious just by looking at the fact that Kana, who would have been torn to pieces in the past, was still alive. However, Kana herself, who had gained power, was unable to use it properly. Kana could clearly see the attack. Kana also gained reflexes to dodge the attack. Kana had the strength to quickly fly and the mana to freely use sacred spells. But Kana's reason couldn't give orders to her body. A simple order to 'avoid'. Kana groaned ugh... Kana continued to back away awkwardly. The Ryukoids no longer attacked Kana, perhaps realizing that they had already lost their will to fight. Instead, they simply formed a wide area around Kana with a majestic appearance. The mouth of one Ryukoid standing in the center opened. One Ryukoid said humans who dare to show themselves before us without fear. It was Ness, the common language of the continent. It was full of firm, earnest murderous intent. One Ryukoid said to Kana that she should taste that anger now.

The cold wind carried the sweet scent of blood across the grassland. Human blood and flesh covered the air. Red rain fell and soaked the grassland. The sparks of life were extinguished by the gray storm. The screams and howls filled the air in a strange harmony. Kana stared blankly at the scene unfolding before her eyes. The templars, whose ranks had already been disrupted, were no longer able to exert their full force. Those gray beasts satisfied their desires without any interference. Kana knelt down and bowed her head weakly. The events before Kana's eyes didn't feel real. Kana thought what she should does... Kana was just an apprentice exorcist. Although Kana had gained great strength, her essence had not changed. Kana had never learned the qualities of a leader, had never been taught, or learned what to do in this situation, or how to overcome fear. In the first place, it was wrong to push a young girl into the battlefield just because she knew how to use such a device. However, at least Kana wasn't so foolish as to not know the two letters of responsibility. Kana thought she has to get up... Kana slowly got up. Kana's legs shook. Kana's fists trembled slightly as if they were holding her tail. A crackling sound leaked out from between Kana's clenched lips. Even so, Kana could not kneel down like this. Kana herself wan't a Saint who would care for the sick with a kind smile. What people wanted was only a saint who would protect them from danger. Kana thought she has to get up. Kana's bent knees straightened. Kana's elastic legs kicked the ground. A cheer burst out from Kana. Kana shouted taat. In an instant, Kana's entire body shot forward. Like a shot arrow, Kana targeted one of the massacre-carrying Ryukoids and ran across the grassland as if she was flying. And then... Kana was immediately bitten by the Ryukoid...

Ryukoid, who was Kana's target, stared blankly at the black-haired young human girl in his mouth. Ryukoid turned its head in surprise as something flew at him quickly. Then, something suddenly jumped into Ryukoid's own mouth, so it bit it. But when Ryukoid bit the thing, it was the girl from before... Ryukoid couldn't help but feel dumbfounded as it looked at this absurd prey stuck in its snout (after all, it was an animal). To be honest, it was only natural. Even if Ryukoid ran around with its wits about him, it wouldn't have been enough. However, the girl, half-conscious, made a super-simple straight-line attack at Ryukoid as if to say, "Catch me~!", so it had no choice but to bite it. In any case, it's only natural for Ryukoid to bite down on any prey that's in its mouth. Ryukoid growled krrr... Ryukoid raised its head and gently shook the poor prey in its mouth before immediately crossing his upper and lower jaws. The story goes that the Ryukoid bit the girl. The girl shouted aah. The Ryukoid's sharp white teeth pierced the girl's delicate skin and tore through her internal organs. Blood began to flow out like a waterfall from between the Ryukoid's red lips with a groaning sound. Even so, the peace of death didn't come easily to the girl. The girl groaned ugh... ugh... The Ryukoid's sharp teeth had made a horribly large hole in Kana's waist, but they couldn't even split it in two. The Ryukoid shook its head once again at the reaction of its prey, which should have been dead already, but was still tenaciously alive. Ryukoid growled krrr... The Ryukoid's prey this time wasn't chewed well, unlike how it looked. The prey was as if something was blocking it. For the Ryukoid, who wanted to kill more, this was quite annoying. The Ryukoid lightly shook the prey and moved it to a position where it could bite easily. Now, if Ryukoid just applies force to its jaws, this delicate-looking yet strangely tenacious prey will eventually be split in two. Ryukoid growled krrr... But that opportunity wasn't given to Ryukoid. It was the moment Ryukoid was about to tighten his jaws. Something had caught Ryukoid's keen senses. The presence of an unidentified life form that was very strong and had a definite presence, with no hostility but enough fighting spirit. Something roared woohoo... A majestic roar echoed faintly from across the meadow along with the rough wind. The gray beast that had been biting Kana opened its mouth. With a thud, Kana's tattered body rolled to the ground. However, Kana was already out of the beasts' attention. The other beasts were also turning their eyes away from the prey they had been aiming for. The beasts' instincts warned them. A new threat was approaching. Woohoo... Something's roar began to grow louder. There was tension in the eyes of the red-tinted beasts. It was certain. Something was approaching. Something powerful and determined to fight the beasts.

A random red object lying around in a corner of the meadow. Suddenly, the object moved slightly. The object groaned ugh... At the same time, with a slurp, a mouthful of red blood poured out of Kana's mouth and ran down her cheeks. Kana muttered ...what's this. Kana muttered to herself, shivering at the sticky sensation. Kana's mind was hazy. Kana couldn't properly assess the situation. Kana struggled to twist her motionless head. A trembling red-tinged white object came into view. The hand of a beautiful girl soaked in blood, looking even whiter under the moonlight. Kana thought ah, she saw... It was Kana's own hand that was convulsing. Kana thought this was how she's going to die... Kana smiled weakly, feeling bitter. It was something Kana had prepared for anyway. Ever since Kana entrusted herself to the temple, death had always accompanied the priests. If you took just one step out of the human city, you would find yourself in the Mid-Area, where monsters that humans couldn't handle with their own strength were swarming. In this world, death was nothing more than whether you died first or last. The only regret was that Kana had not properly fulfilled her responsibility to protect the merchants. Kana thought if she had just been a little braver, she could have taken some of them as her companions on her journey to the afterlife... Kana slowly closed her eyes. Kana thought she's a failure to the end... Kana's thoughts could no longer continue. Kana could only feel death slowly approaching. The soft, warm, moist, even ticklish feeling of death... Kana suddenly frowned in puzzlement. Somehow Kana's situation was a bit strange. Although Kana didn't know because she had never died, the words death and moist, warm, and ticklish didn't go together at all. Kana slowly opened her eyes. And... Kana shouted yipee. Kana screamed so loudly that it was hard to believe she was injured, forgetting her wounds.

The being filled Kana's vision, shining dazzlingly silver-gray under the moonlight. Two golden eyes quietly shone on either side of the being's head, which looked like a cross between a wolf and a lion, and a gorgeous silver mane swayed in the wind from its thick neck. A gigantic beast more than twice the size of a Ryukoid stood before Kana's eyes. Kana swallowed without realizing it as she looked at the beast. Kana thought t, that... A beast with a head reminiscent of a wolf, a gorgeous mane on the nape of the neck, a lion's body, and nine tails. A word flashed through Kana's mind as she froze in fear. Kana thought be... hemoth... Behemoth was a top-tier creature classified as a tier 2 creature in the creature encyclopedia. The legendary beast, which is said to be able to defeat even a dragon when five of them gather, was quietly sitting next to Kana, looking down at the crowd with a proud look. Kana said ah, ah... Kana's face turned pale. It wasn't necessarily because of Kana's fear. Of course, that was the main reason for Kana. It was because Kana had run out of blood. Kana was on the verge of death, so she screamed, using all her remaining strength, which only drained her more energy. Kana moved her faint gaze towards the direction where the warmth was coming from. And Kana was slightly surprised. The silver beast was gently licking Kana as if it was treating its young. Despite the silver beast's seemingly friendly appearance, Kana instead despaired. Kana thought ...the silver beast was check the seasoning before eating her. In this era, there was one absolute truth that would never disappear for the humans living in the Mid-Area. All creatures were hostile to humans, and the moment they encounter a human, they show infinite murderous intent, and that murderous intent never disappears until the human disappears from sight. It was a truth that never had exceptions. However, after a while, even the dullest Kana couldn't help but feel puzzled. Kana thought she doesn't... hurt...
