I hereby use the power of law to change the rule that binds me to the form of my kind, using my own will. My will becomes the power to change my form. Shapeshifting magic spell Polymorph Self!

Polymorph Self is a spell in the Karsearin: Adventures of a Red Dragon.

Information[]

This spell is a shapeshifting magic spell used to transform caster into another creature.

When caster shout out the spell, the body shrink rapidly with the light. [1]

Shapeshifting magic spell, Polymorph, is a fairly high-level magic in the human world, but it's not exactly the same for dragons. When a dragon reaches its adulthood at the age of 700, it instinctively learns to transform its form into another race. For dragons who are magical, it's just one of the free actions such as moving their limbs. Afterwards, it acquires the ancient knowledge and wisdom accumulated by its ancestors, but in fact, this was the original purpose of the polymorph. Dragon's knowledge is vast. And there's still no foolish dragon who keeps that vast knowledge in a booklet that fits the dragon's size. If the colors were made to match the size of the dragon, perhaps a third of the continent's forests would be barren only for paper making, and if the bookshelf was opened, humans would be able to run 100 meters in it. So, once the dragons are made into a small booklet, they become polymorphs in the form of other races to acquire knowledge. [1]

With this magic, dragons can change their form into that of another race. They became polymorphs in the form of other races (most dragons choose humans, but depending on their taste, Elves, Humanoids, and eccentric dragons sometimes choose Dwarves or Goblins. Those with high pride as dragons are drachronians They also change into dragons. Apparently, dragons are too huge for their size, so just wandering around will have a serious impact on the world.) [2]

History[]

Polymorph Self is included in The Book of Terold Croword, the Archmage by Terold Croword. Karstein de Red kept a copy in his nest at the Lartead Mountains in 303 AC, but the book is stolen by Karsearin, who kept it in his nest in the Al Kreed Mountains. [2] He first opened the book, it tore about 100 pages, fortunately, the torn part wasn't on the side of Polymorph magic. The problem was that he couldn't turn the bookshelf. [1] After six months, 304 AC, he succeeded in reading all the contents of the books he wanted. He learned of the spell in the book and transformed into a human, and ran away from home. [2]

Limitation[]

  • Once a caster changes into another species, the powers and traits of the previous species may be altered. When Karsearin used this spell, Arin's eyes darkened so he can't see any of them, and feels terribly cold, and he's bewildered that he's going to freeze to death. Arin argued that this wasn't its home and went back and forth in the dark, eventually memorizing this spell again and returning to the dragon. Arin was bright and warm by dragon standards. [1]
