Leather Neckband is a Magic Item in the Karsearin: Adventures of a Red Dragon.

Leather Neckband is a leather collar and it looks like it's for livestock. Arin thinks this looks like a dog collar. ^[1] At first glance, it looks like an ordinary leather strap. ^[2] If you tie a neckband tightly, it won't come off easily. ^[1]

Unlike regular magic seals, this one freezes the flow of mana itself. If it's a magic seal, only magicians can be disabled, but if it's a mana seal, all occupations that handle mana, such as Sword Masters, elementalists, and priest/exorcists can be disabled. ^[2]

A weak divine spell will not be able to even scratch the neckband. If a stronger divine spell is applied to the neckband, the target's head will be cut off before the neckband breaks. ^[2]

History[]

In bed, Arin was surprised and shouted he got caught. Arin woke up and shouted he better escape. There was something like a strong rope wrapped around Arin's neck, and the strong pressure it exerted on his throat caused him to groan strangely gah. Arin asked huh... ...what's this, why a rope is there around his neck... ...and what's with this getup. Arin was wearing a blue one-piece dress with lace and this. A rope attached to Arin's neckband hung on one corner of the bed. Arin said he should break the bed first. Arin shouted Kasa. It was quiet all around. Arin thought huh... ...he swear... something similar happened before... Arin was no longer shouted, but sobbed ...someone don't tell him... ...this rope is blocking the flow of his mana. Arin shouted right, let's try the Polymorph spell, he hereby use the power of law... ...agh, this isn't working either. Arin shouted why this is happening to himmm. ^[3]

Arin lay quietly on the bed. Arin thought he can't return to his original form, not again, there isn't anything he can do. Arin said Pete, he should cut this rope for him. Pete went behind Arin and untied the rope tied to his neckband and said hmm... he doesn't think he can cut the rope, but he can break the fastener attached to this. Arin smiled and said that will do, he can ask Aria to cut the band for him. Pete had a gloomy expression on his face. Arin held the Dazzling Dragon Sword and shouted whoa, this is so heavy. Pete said maybe the neckband is sealing Arin's magic. Pete thought it looked like Arin can't even use Spirit Magic, that does meant the neckband is actually blocking the flow of his mana. Arin said aww, the neckband and this silly outfit... made him look ridiculous. Pete thought that's really the problem right now. ^[4]
