Dragon's Nest Arc is the fifty fifth story arc of the Karsearin: Adventures of a Red Dragon (Web Novel).
Plot[]
Someone remarked, according to his master; it's around here, there ought to be a cave across a lake of lava. Vera was surprised. Another person asked Gaster, that's it. It seemed like a gloomy cave on the other side of the lava lake. Someone said yes, that's exactly it, the way to the sealed creature. Someone asked but how they're expected to get there. The Dragon Slayers were lucky to find their route, but they had to cross this enormous lava lake. Gaster said the Dragon Slayers are unable to employ flying magic because the mana currents are so unpredictable that there is a chance the spell will be broken in the middle. Someone said everyone, get out of here, he'll deal with this by force. Gaster stated as he began to dance and said here comes a Nineth Circle spell. Vera was in a grave situation, but Pluto advised her to ignore Gaster and not allow it affect her because the others appeared to have become accustomed to it by now. When Gaster's dance finally came to a conclusion, there was a huge cheer that made everything go completely cold, Absolute Zero. The lava lake was filled with a dense ice fog and a severe cold that was almost at absolute zero, yet nothing happened. Expecting some fantastic sorcery, Pluto's eyes widened and he scowled at Gaster. Incredulous, Gaster replied that it appeared that magic was ineffective on lava; maybe Karstein had tampered with it. Darios stepping forward and remarked he'll try it. Gaster looked across at Darios. Beautiful particles of light gradually gathered in Darios's palm, creating a beautiful silver flash that eventually turned into a single, enormous sword of light as he gazed into the lava lake with a hardened countenance. The Silver Aura was entrenched in the lava lake's surface with a great explosion when the light struck the water. A high wall of flame emerged on both sides of the retreating lava as the lake shattered open as the lava that had come into direct touch with the Silver Aura quickly cooled. Gaster was taken aback. All that's left is a huge lava lake that has been divided in half, with a straight road passing through its center. Vera, Pluto, and Gaster gazed in disbelief as the enormous red continent materialized. Someone told his confused friends that, despite the unstable mana, there shouldn't be any trouble traveling down now, so let's go. Pluto believed that by using the flow of mana, this guy was able to split the lava lake. Who knew that Sword Aura could do that. Gaster let out a breath. Pluto inquired as to if they had just entered the cave. After traversing a huge lava lake, Gaster replied in the affirmative. Someone inquired as to why this temple was frozen. The two rows of pillars extending into the distance, as well as the intricately carved ice walls and roof of the frozen temple, were always glistening. Someone questioned Karstein about why it was such a waste to intentionally ice this area adjacent to the blazing hot lake. Another said dragons are such enigmatic creatures. Darios stated that let's continue because he doesn't even want to know what goes on inside the dragons' minds. Step by step, Darios and his group started to move farther into the temple. Darios and his group strolled endlessly along the temple's lengthy hallways. Pluto complained abruptly, thinking the frozen temple is endless, How long does this last. Between two rows of silver pillars was a passageway that seemed to go on forever. Pluto said if he had known about this location, he would have dressed more warmly, and it would have been less dull if at least something took off. Gaster said that Pluto must not let his guard down, that he must not let his guard down, that there must still be something in Karstein's lair. Darios was surprised to see something. Suddenly, from the other side of the snow corridor, white snowflakes began to swirl toward the Dragon Slayers, mixing with the strong wind. Darios and Pluto got into battle stance as if they had been waiting for him, and he shouted that yes, it was about time something showed up. Gaster was startled and exclaimed it's... Soon a blizzard cleared around the Dragon Slayers, the wind stopped, and a terrifyingly large, dark shadow appeared beyond. The penguin that eventually appeared had a head nearly 66 ft (20 meters) high and was over 49 ft (15 meters) long. Vera's eyes lit up and she exclaimed it's a penguin, it's cute. At that moment, the penguin's truly deep and majestic voice rang out. Almost telepathically, it said, lowlings, this is a sacred place, forbidden to humans, it is not too late to turn back. Darios and Pluto prepared to fight, he said looking at the penguin, he must look serious, but he is only a giant penguin, he really doesn't understand what that cocky dragon is thinking. The penguin spoke in a deep, angry voice that what is the matter with the humans that they ignore his warnings... Immediately the penguin took a deep breath, inhaled deeply the cold air, and his chest heaved loudly. Someone said... ...very well, that only absolute death awaited the humans. Gaster's face hardened with tension. Gaster shouted to everyone, hide behind him, Vera put up your shields immediately. Immediately the penguin's mouth turned into a diamond shape. Then a pillar of silver extended from between the penguin's mouths, and Gaster shouted under his breath. A single flash of silver rolled in the cold air and rained down on the Dragon Slayers, and the intense cold hurtled wildly through the magic circle, and in an instant, a huge pillar of ice rose up in all directions. Darios and Pluto threw themselves into the air and pounced on the penguin. Darios made a spectacular dash and fell to the ground and he exclaimed ugh... Soon Gaster and Vera's shields were breached and he yelled ugh.... its attack was powerful enough to destroy the entire shield. Pluto also flew and hit the ground, yelling how could it be so strong. Darios took it seriously, saying that this thing was lighter than he thought... and not as strong as a dragon, but stronger. Hearing the giant penguin's telepathy, Darios was impressed that it could withstand the power of... ...impressed. Once again Darios heard the giant penguin's telepathic voice was heard that quite impressive, to think him withstood his power. Darios' face went rigid. The penguin said he would give it his all this time. Gaster wondered what penguin's attack had been earlier. Again the penguin's message rang out majestically that he's a creature forged by the supreme power of the great old dragon, Lord Karstein... ...he is Perileus, the Keeper of the Seals. [1] Karsenian rested against the back of the chair in the guest room and asked the child who had gone to look for the records how long it would take her to find them. Since the data was just from a few decades ago, it shouldn't take long, right. Yuna said Lady Karsenian, several decades is a long time for them humans; it would take at least a day to find the records. Karsenian said really, that's fast. Yuna said, yes, it's quick—at least by dragon standards. [2][3]
Aria handed Arin a lap pillow and patted him. Arin murmured Aria, he can't wait for her to return to her human form. Aria with a chilly, expressionless visage and responded yes, her too. Karstein's countenance was less serene than Aria's when he glanced at Arin and Aria. Karstein surreptitiously sent him a Magic Message—a spell that conveys a message that's inaudible to others and in order to convince Kiadrys that Arin and Aria had become too close. Kiadry nodded in agreement as Karstein's statement echoed in his mind, without revealing that, if his suspicions are true, this is not good. Karstein informed them that since all the indications are there, they can confidently verify that their suspicions are accurate. At Karstein's claim, Kiadrys' brow furrowed slightly, conveying the message that they must first convince Arin, even though he's a hatchling, the laws prohibit them from acting as they choose. Karstein said that while Arin is having so much fun, he will realize why he needs to remove his current dream, this is only a little part of Arin's existence, and he won't even recall that any of this happened to him later on, though some traces might still be present in his mind. Kiadrys told Karstein that if he can't, they will have to use force. Karstein scowled a little and said he wanted to avoid it at all costs, but they had no other option well, they have nothing to do now, right, shall they take a nap. [4][3] Gaianes Empire, the third imperial library, Darneirod. Charlene and the mages in the palace were concerned about the thousands of pages of different materials in this location, which mostly included materials pertaining to magic. Charlene believed it had been six hours already, but there were far too many records to go through. The third library has magical documents that are so complicated that not even librarians can comprehend them, as a result, the records are still disorganized, making it more difficult to find the correct information. With a bundle of papers in hand, one of the mages rushed towards Charlene and said her majesty, they found them, the study data was documented by the former Queen of Sorcery. Charlene's head snapped around. Charlene swiftly reviewing the information and thanked the mage that excellent work, therefore this belongs to the former Queen. Charlene's face became white in an instant. The mage said huh. Charlene returned to the space. Charlene wondered why all the dragons were sleeping as she glanced around the room in confusion. With hesitation, Charlene went to the bed and said, pardon her, she should wake the dragons up. Charlene thought if she awakens the dragons a dragon yelled how dare she wake it from its sleep. Charlene thought but if she doesn't awaken the dragons, a dragon yelled how dare she waste its time. Charlene thought either way, she's doomed. Seton felt sorry for Charlene and opened his lips to say that she should wake Arin up as he's the least likely to bite. With his head lying on Aria's lap, Arin was sound asleep. Charlene said, gesturing madly that Aria should wake Arin up, please. Aria immediately told the sleeping Arin to wake up because Charlene had arrived. Arin woke up, stood up, and exclaimed Charlene, excitedly announcing that she had discovered a way to turn Aria back into a human. Karstein rubbed his eyes. Kiadrys yawned. Arin asked what they needed to do. Charlene hesitated before explaining that there was a misunderstanding. Charlene lowered her voice and revealed that while she had found records about the Vessel of the Soul, they did not indicate a method to revert Aria to human form. Arin's expression turned serious, and he fiercely questioned what Charlene meant, realizing that he could not live as a human. Pete and Yuna's expressions became tense. Seton also looked concerned. Karstein glanced at Arin. Aria tried to soothe Arin, urging him to calm down. In a composed manner, Aria asked Charlene to elaborate. Charlene spoke calmly, reminding Aria that she was aware of the side effects of being a Vessel of the Soul, so she wouldn't repeat herself, for the previous Queen of Sorcery, reverting to her original state did not equate to becoming human again; her aim was to return to a form similar to that of a human. Yuna questioned whether being identical to a human was the same thing. After pausing to gather her thoughts, Charlene elaborated that for a Vessel of the Soul, most of the physical body transforms into a different entity, the previous Queen of Sorcery had little knowledge about the Almighty Creature and instead focused on studying imperial authority. Karstein, confused, asked what imperial authority was. Charlene quietly explained that it referred to the jewels used to seal the Almighty Creature, known as Gaias and Zaedrasil. Charlene continued by describing the seals as mana reservoirs made from a special material capable of storing vast amounts of mana, the previous Queen of Sorcery termed this phenomenon as multidimensional shared existence, suggesting that the abnormal compression of mana within a limited mass defied the laws of the universe, leading her to conclude that the material must exist in multidimensional space. Pete and Seton looked puzzled. Charlene, feeling a bit embarrassed, acknowledged that her theory might seem far-fetched, but it was the only way to explain the seals. Yuna inquired about the amount of mana stored within a seal that led the previous Queen of Sorcery to propose her multidimensional theory. Charlene admitted she couldn't be certain but, based on various experiments, suggested that the mana within a seal was comparable to that of dozens of dragons. Pete and Yuna were surprised. Karstein opened his mouth in a voice that appeared some way or another snide that Charlene doesnt intellect him what she said is genuine so she doesnt hold back and go on. Charlene pondered and said y-yes. Charlene begun by clarifying that there was undoubtedly a endless sum of mana inside the seal in the event that they may tap into it at that point the Gaianes Empire would gotten to be the greatest mysterious empire in history in any case there was no way of knowing how to get to that save of mana let alone revealing the first fabric of the gem lifeless substances can not one or the other pick up nor lose more than a set sum of mana thats one of the supreme laws of enchantment actually the former Queen of Sorcery had no thought how this was conceivable. Kiadrys was shocked. All of a sudden, Kiadrys said he saw so the ture nature of the seals were that individual's. At that minute, Karstein let out a harsh tearing a uproarious voice that Kiadrys. Karsteins voice was one of allegation not outrage but it was sufficient to instill fear in all the people here and there was hush for a minute. After a whereas, Karstein broke the quiet and opened his mouth in a cold voice that human, she's lost one vital point, lifeless substances that can store and releast mana for utilize as of now exist in reality. Karstein proceeded that hes talking approximately the center of a dragon's mana, the Dragon Heart. [3]
